Elect Democratic Karen Johnson to the Will County Board

People-Focused, Community-Driven

Karen Johnson has been a Will County resident for 37 years, the last 33 in unincorporated Lockport. She was elected Lockport Township Collector in 2017, appointed as Trustee in 2020 and re-elected in 2021 and 2025. In these roles, she has worked to improve and streamline township services while responsibly reducing the tax levy each year.

Karen works remotely as a paralegal. Over the past 35 years, she has volunteered with educational institutions and nonprofits, including national peacebuilding and advocacy groups, served as a CASA in Will County and on the board of a teen residential treatment center in Englewood. She earned an MA in organizational leadership from Lewis University and has extensive training in conflict resolution/transformation, peacebuilding, restorative justice/practices and mediation. Karen was also a foster parent for teenagers for five years before seeking elected office.

Karen believes elected officials should put people and planet first and seeks to improve government functionality at all levels. She looks forward to hearing from residents in Will County Board District 5 and working with officials to serve the community and local businesses.
