Sherry Williams is a lifelong Will county resident, growing up in unincorporated Lockport Township and now residing in Crest Hill. She retired from the Will County Sheriff’s Department with 35 years of service after working as a Classification Specialist at the Adult Detention Facility, and over 20 years as a Police Dispatcher.
Active in her union, AFSCME Local 1028, Sherry was its first female President, serving for over a decade, and also held roles at Steward, Trustee, and Vice President. She currently serves on the Executive Board for AFSCME Retirees Subchapter 73.
Elected to the Will County Board in November 2022, Sherry began as the Democratic Whip. Sherry is currently serving as the Democratic Leader. She serves on several committees including Executive, Public Works & Transportation and Public Health Safety.
Sherry’s vision is to promote environmental, economic, and social sustainability to ensure the best quality of life for Will County residents.
