Sherry Williams is a lifelong Will county resident, growing up in unincorporated Lockport Township and now residing in Crest Hill. She worked for the Will County Sheriff’s Department for 35 years as a police Dispatcher and later as a Classification Specialist at the Adult Detention Facility.

Active in her union, AFSCME Local 1028, Sherry was its first female President, serving for over a decade, and also held roles at Steward, Trustee, and Vice President. She currently serves on the Executive Board for AFSCME Retirees Subchapter 73.

Elected to the Will County Board in November 2022, Sherry served as the Democratic Whip during her first term and is now the Democratic Leader, also serving on the Executive Committee.

Sherry’s vision is to promote environmental, economic, and social sustainability to ensure the best quality of life for Will County residents.

“I want to make Will County a place that residents are proud to call home.”
